Hubbard Glacier (seen damming Russel Fjord)

Yakutat, Alaska (AK), US
One of the most interesting natural occurances caught in a google satellite photo is the Hubbard Glacier reaching Gilbert Point, across Russell Fjord. The glacier periodically dams the fjord, creating a temporary Russell Lake that rises considerably from freshwater flow. Eventually though, the dam is washed away and the fjord is open again until Hubbard dams it again.
