Iranian F-14 Tomcat

Iranian F-14 Tomcat

Bushehr, Islamic Republic of Iran (IR)
One of the eighty F-14s sold to Iran in 1974 during the reign of the Shaw. Today most of Iran's original US-trained Tomcat pilots have fled the country and the majority of the Tomcats have been cannibalized for spare parts to keep only a small handful flying. Iran has become so desperate for spare parts for its Tomcats it has gone to great lengths to try to procure them on the black market. See http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/30006/
