The Luksic family is considered one of the richest in South America, with a combined net worth of $17.4 billion (Forbes 2013). They control Antofagasta, one of the world's largest copper miners. Their business empire also includes: banking, food and beverages, shipping, electric power distribution, agriculture, fishing, telecommunications, etc.
