J.D. Vance is an American author, venture capitalist, politician, and prior United States Marine serving as the junior United States senator from Ohio since 2023. A member of the Republican Party, he is the party's nominee for vice president in the 2024 election.

Per local lore, thouse is said to have been part of the Underground Railroad, supposedly harboring runaway slaves from the South in a basement hideaway, but there has been no concrete evidence of this claim.
