Kyle Vogt is the co-founder of Justin.tv, Socialcam, Twitch (owned by Amazon), and Cruise Automation. Cruise Automation is a self-driving technology which was acquired by General Motors in 2016. The 30-year-old paid $21.8M for this Pacific Heights home, making it one of the most expensive residential real estate sales in San Francisco's history.

Vogt is well known as an American engineer, entrepreneur, technology executive and robotics pioneer, who has among other things, been credited for some of the most revolutionary streaming platforms in history. In 2013, Vogt founded Cruise Automation, where he still currently serves as the company's President and Chief Technology Officer. In his spare time, Cruise develops self-driving car technology and, since being acquired in May 2016, operates as an independent subsidiary of General Motors. This makes Vogt and Cruise Co-Founder Dan Kan the youngest senior directors at GM. Vogt and Kan are listed as number 7 on Fortune's 2016 40 Under 40 List, an annual ranking of the most influential young people in business.

Before reaching 30 years old, Kyle Vogt has been the co-founder of not just one, but two billion-dollar businesses: Video game live-streaming platform Twitch and self-driving car firm Cruise Automation. Now, he's the owner of the single most expensive home sold in San Francisco in 2016 according to reports in various media outlets, and he paid a healthy $21.8 million for the privilege. The $21.8 million sale makes Vogt's new home the most expensive of the year in a notoriously pricey city. Though, Vogt acquired the property below its original listing price back in November 2015: $28 million. After a summer of price reductions Vogt managed to snag it for a deal just shy of 22 million. While an asset like this is hardly a drop in the bucket for a multi millionaire like Vogt, this property remains a solid addition to his real estate portfolio.

The property was reportedly originally built for James Madison, who was a businessman who made his money with the Alaska Salmon Company.
