On Sunday 24th July 2022 Tetsuya JL1SDA/0 a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Jiigatake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 22 contacts in total working on the 70 cm UHF and the 40 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
