He is also the wealthiest Briton living abroad. He was born in London's East End and made his initial wealth expanding family's catering business before gradually moving into currency trading in the late 1970s. He is the founder and main investor in Tavistock Group, which has interests in more than 100 companies including Simply Self Storage, which claims to be largest privately held storage company in U.S. Has homes all over the world including one at Lyford Cay and this one at Isleworth, an Orlando golf community he bought out of receivership 1990s. He is developing a 6,700-acre community, Lake Nona, near Orlando, and a resort in the Bahamas, Albany Golf & Beach, with friends Tiger Woods and Ernie Els.
