John L. Clendenin is the former Chairman, president, and CEO of BellSouth, the telecommunications company that was sold to AT&T for $86 billion in 2006. He is a Chairman Emeritus of the company, and served as president of Southern Bell before he led BellSouth for 12 years. He serves on the board of Powerwave Technologies, a board of which he was chair for a 6 year tenure that ended in 2005. Powerwave Technologies is a global leader in end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions for wireless communications networks. Clendenin recently retired from the boards of Equifax, The Kroger Company and The Home Depot.
