On Sunday 25th September 2022, JI1AVM/9, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Karamatsudake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 19 contacts in total working on the 2 metre and 70cm, amateur radio bands.
The summit of Karamatsudake is 2696 metres (8845 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
