On Saturday 15th October 2022, Yasu JA5QJX/0, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Karei Kogen and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 21 contacts in total working on the 40, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Karei Kogen is 1887 metres (6191 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Karei Kogen is in the Nagano Prefecture on Honshu Island.
