This is also the former home of Inge Bongo, the estranged wife of the president of Gabon Ali Ben Bongo. When Ali told Inge that she had to move to Gabon to live as his first lady, she refused -- trying to split her time between Gabon and her home country of the United States. Ali allegedly had her kidnapped and beat her. When she fled back to the US, Ali cut her off financially. She now reportedly lives in California off of food stamps.
