On Friday 1st July 2022 Ori JS1JNM/I a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Kitaokusenjyoudake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 4 contacts in total working on the 40 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Kitaokusenjyoudake is 2601 metres (8533 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
