Launch Pad 1, suitable for launching orbital missions, is serviced by an enclosed and movable gantry called the Launch Service Structure (LSS). Launch Pad 2, suitable for sub-orbital launches, is enclosed and serviced by the Spacecraft and Assemblies Transfer (SCAT) facility.

Other facilities include the Launch Control Center (LCC), a Payload Processing Facility (PPF), and an Integration Processing Facility (IPF). The SCAT, a movable structure roller mounted on rails, also provides all-weather indoor transfer of processed motors into the LSS.

i saw an icbm launch there back in 2000. it was shot down a few minutes later via vandenburg.

They haven't had a launch at the KLC in over ten months (as of Oct 6, 2009)- it just sits there rusting away. Here in Kodiak, we call it "Space Pork Kodiak".
