On Saturday 17th September 2022, JG1EKA/0 and JH0UUY/0, two radio amateurs from Japan reached the summit of Kurofuyama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 16 contacts in total working on the 23 cm and 70 cm amateur radio bands.
