A successful entrepreneur throughout his life, he started and ran numerous business enterprises all over the country. From the management of drugstore chains, to the manufacture of loudspeakers, and the importation of electronics, he had a fascinating and varied career. Most recently, he retired as the Chairman and CEO of KLH Audio Systems, a prominent consumer electronics company.
After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War, Lavere attended Montana University, where he graduated in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Furthering his education, he attended the University of Washington where he received a Masters Degree in Business.
