Lisa de Kooning is the only child of Willem de Kooning, a late Dutch-American abstract expressionist artist who was part of the New York School. In November 2006, Kooning's Woman III was sold by David Geffen to billionaire Steven A. Cohen for $137.5 million, making it the second most expensive painting ever sold.
