Long Lane Playground stands on the site of an old burial ground called Quaker Burial Ground. The cemetery was opened in 1697 and closed in 1855. The cemetery was converted into a children's playground in 1885. Some of the old gravestones still remain at the site and sit along the boundary fence surrounding the playground.
