Lou Gehrig was a New York Yankee who is know to have had and died from ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease). Gehrig moved to this home from New Rochelle, NY, and died here on June 2, 1941. The home is commemorated by a plaque indicating that Gehrig lived here.
