Lytham Lifeboat Museum adjoins the windmill at Lytham. The Lytham lifeboat museum is housed in the former Lytham lifeboat house which was built in 1863. This boathouse was used to house the lifeboat until 1931 when a motor lifeboat arrived at the station and was placed on an afloat mooring in the River Ribble.
