"Made in Oregon" sign

"Made in Oregon" sign (StreetView)
This iconic sign was built in 1941 and originally advertised "White Satin Sugar" within the outline of Oregon. In 1959, the wording on the sign was changed to read "White Stag" - an apparel company who purchased the building below the sign. The wording on the sign changed to "Made in Oregon" in 1997 to advertise a gift retailing business.

The city of Portland bought the sign in 2010 and plans are in place to change the words to read "Portland Oregon".
