Marc Maron is a comedian, actor, radio personality, screenwriter and podcast host who is known for his podcast WTF. Born on September 27, 1963 in New Jersey, Marc was raised for a couple of years in Alaska when his father did his medical residency for the US Air Force. Eventually, his family settled in New Mexico where Marc stayed through high school. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in English Literature in 1986. Marc started doing standup comedy in 1987 when he was 24 years old. After doing his time in the standup world, he produced a one man show, Jerusalem Syndrome, which had an extended off-Broadway run in 2000 and was later released in book form. In 2004, Marc co-hosted a talk radio morning show on the now defunct liberal leaning Air America. Marc’s contract was not renewed and he was released from the show in December 2005. In 2009, after being let go from 4 Air America shows and working through a divorce, Marc found solace in talking in his garage and recording his podcast.
