Market Hall Museum

Market Hall Museum (StreetView)
This building was constructed in the late 17th century as the Market Hall to give market traders some protection from the elements. From the early part of the 18th century until 1848 one room in the building was used as a "lock-up" where prisoners were housed before attending trial. The Warwickshire Natural History and Archaeological Society was founded here in 1836 and the museum followed.
