The Methodist Church in Freguesia (IMEFRE) is a missionary community committed to the Christian faith, dedicated to serving the people and living as part of the body of Christ, proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

The IMEFRE temple, located on Rua Timboaçu, was inaugurated on December 17, 1999 during the pastorate of Reverend Azoil Zerbinato. The founding team included Auri Lucas, Fernando Rebello, Paulo Brito, Josué Vieira, and Paulo Cezar.

IMEFRE was established during a period of expansion of the Methodist Church of Taquara in Jacarepaguá, becoming one of its daughter communities and strengthening the Methodist presence in the region, providing a space of faith, service, and fellowship for the local community.
