The former linebacker in professional football, who played his entire career for the Chicago Bears in the NFL, after starring in college at Baylor University, lived here. While with the Bears, he was known as "The Heart of the Defense" for the Monsters of the Midway in the mid-1980s. His nickname is Samurai Mike. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
