Miró i Mallorca

Joan Miró i Ferrà (April 20, 1893 – December 25, 1983) was a Spanish Catalan painter, sculptor, and ceramicist born in Barcelona.

In 1979 Miró received a doctorate honoris causa from the University of Barcelona. Miró, who suffered from heart disease, died in his home in Palma (Mallorca) on December 25, 1983.
