A 30 feet tall lighthouse built in 1881 stood in Wellfleet Harbor, Massachussetts, until 1925, when it was thought to have been dismantled and destroyed. In 2008, researchers discovered it was actually relocated to California.
No records have been found detailing how it was transported to the west coast, but it is known that it stood in Yerba Buena, California, before being moved to this location at Point Montara.
