Omani Billionaire Mohammed Al Barwani started MB Holding in 1982. Initially providing oil field services,then exploration and production of oil and gas. This remains the most valuable part of its business.
Mawarid Mining Part of MB Holdings is into mineral exploration. Barwani's five children are all active in MB Holding. MB Holdings also owns Musstir, a real estate developer with stakes in several hotels such as Radisson in Oman.
In 2013 the company had $1.2 billion revenue. Recently they have acquired Dutch luxury yacht manufacturer Oceanco & the Turkish Proteksan Turquoise small yacht builder.
