Monumento al Marinaio

Monumento al Marinaio

Taranto, Italy (IT)
The sculpture, which is about seven meters high and stands on a pedestal, depicts two sailors in the act of greeting the boats that are about to cross the waterway linking the Great Sea with the Baltic Small, lifting up the Typical cap with his right hand. The work seamlessly with the old railings of the course on which two seas are subject to a five-pointed star emblem of the Navy and the Savoy, and expresses the indissoluble link between the city and the many soldiers who still work there
