On Sunday 22nd January 2023, Franz EA8/OE5FSM/P, a radio amateur from Austria reached the summit of Morro de la Cruz Granda and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 11 contacts in total working on the 15 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit of Morro de la Cruz Granda is 1539 metres (5049 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
