Mostar is an important cultural city in the Herzegovina region of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is primarily known for Stari Most (Old Bridge), a bridge built by the Ottomans in the 1560's. The original bridge stood until November 9, 1993 when Croat forces blew it up during the Croat-Bosnial War. The bridge was rebuilt in and opened on July 23, 2004.
