On Sunday 7th August 2022 Joyce K0JJW and Bob K0NR two radio amateurs from Monument, CO reached the summit of Mount Antero and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 33 contacts in total working on the 2 metre, 23 cm and 70 cm amateur radio bands.

The summit Mount Antero is 4349 metres (14268 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
