'Mushroom Canopies' by Eliot Noyes

'Mushroom Canopies' by Eliot Noyes

Denton, North Carolina (NC), US
designed in 1965 by Noyes Arthur De Salvo Jr. as prototypes for Mobil Service Stations. Very few of the canopies still exist and the original round pumps have all been replaced with modern gas pumps. The auxillary buildings had a distinctive, clean modern look but there are no extent examples of the untouched buildings that include these "mushroom" canopies.
