National Express West Midlands – No.1762 BX56 XCF

National Express West Midlands – No.1762 BX56 XCF was a Volvo B7RLE with Wright Eclipse Urban body with B42F seating configuration which was delivered new in 2006.

The Volvo B7RLE which was first produced in 2001 is a single-deck bus chassis with low front entry for passengers. The chassis has been used in conjunction with a number of Volvo engines which have been developed to meet the challenge of stricter emissions standards.

The Wrightbus Eclipse bus body for low floor single deck bus chassis was manufactured between 1999 and 2019. The body was specially designed for the Volvo B7L chassis but was also used later on the Volvo B7RLE chassis.

Here on Street View No 1762 is seen alongside the former Walsall Corporation Transport offices, once the domain of Mr Edgley Cox the ‘inveterate experimenter’ who was General Manager from 1952 until 1969.
