Nelly's House

Nelly's House

Eureka, Missouri (MO), US
American rapper, musician, and entrepreneur Nelly’s house was an 11,000 square foot, 6 bedroom, 6.5 bathroom Tuscan-style estate near Hidden Valley Ski Resort about 30 miles from St. Louis, in Wildwood, Missouri. The property includes 12 acres of land, a basketball court, pool, hot tub, and three-car garage as well as impressive views of the Meramac River valley.

Nelly purchased this house in 2002 for $2.5 million with the intent to renovate. The renovations never happened, and the house remained vacant and fell into disrepair. In February 2021, Nelly listed the house for sale and received 52 offers and was reportedly sold above the $600,000 asking price. Basic renovations are estimated to be a minimum of $500,000-1,000,000.

The vacant house was burglarized in 2009. Video games and electronics were stolen.

Nelly’s net worth is $40 million, and he currently resides in Calabasas, CA in a rental property.

Nelly, born Cornell Iral Haynes Jr, was born in Austin, TX but grew up in the St. Louis area, forming the musical group St. Lunatics while in high school. St. Lunatics had local success but failed to break out, though Nelly soon found solo success with his debut album, Country Grammar. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and was ultimately certified 9x platinum by the RIAA.

Nelly’s follow-up album, Nellyville, was released in 2002 and debuted at number one. It included a number-one single “Hot in Herre” and sold 7.6 million copies worldwide, also netting Nelly a Grammy award for Best Male Rap Solo Performance.

In recent years, Nelly is known better for legal trouble and reality television than music, though in 2020 he released a song “Lil Bit” which is slated to be included on a forthcoming country-influenced EP Heartland.
