Nivin MacMillan is the widow of Duncan Macmillian, the billionaire great-grandson of W.W. Cargill, the founder of Cargill, Incorporated, and the son of John H. MacMillan, Jr., past Chairman and CEO of the Company. Duncan served on the Board of Directors of Cargill for over three decades, retiring in 1997. Cargill is a global agriculture and commodities business that is the largest privately held company in the country. If it were a public company, it would rank, as of 2011, number 13 on the Fortune 500, behind AT&T and ahead of JP Morgan Chase. In 2011, Cargill had revenue of $119.5 billion. A year before his death in 2005, Forbes put his net worth at $1.2 billion.
