Northwest Angle / Lake of the Woods

Northwest Angle / Lake of the Woods

Angle, Minnesota (MN), US
The Northwest Angle is the northernmost point in Minnesota and in the contiguous U.S. and one of very few geographic enclaves of the continental U.S. The Angle is connected to Canada by land, but not to Minnesota. It's existence is the result of border treaties based on flawed geographic knowledge.

(Hybrid mode deliberate, so you can see the border going around and through the area.)
