New-Jerusalem Monastery or Novo-Ierusalimsky Monastery (Russian: Ново-Иерусалимский монастырь), also known as the Voskresensky Monastery, is a Russian Orthodox monastery, founded in 1656 by Patriarch Nikon in the town of Istra in the Moscow District of Russia. This site was chosen for its resemblance to the Holy Land.
