The Department of Defense announced today the decision to inactivate and return eight communication sites to Italy. The sites are: Mt. Cima Gallina, Mt. Paganella, Mt. Corna, Mt. Cimone, Mt. Serra, Mt. Venda, Ceggia, and Coltano Communications Site.

EMAS / SENRAS traffic used to flow from the central region, south over the alps into the Coltano Switch, those pipes passed traffic across the sea into Araxos and into Greece and further east into Turkey.
