Odd Fellows Pioneer Cemetery

Corvallis, Oregon (OR), US
Odd Fellows Pioneer Cemetery, also known as the IOOF Pioneer Cemetery of Corvallis, is located on Witham Hill Dr. once known as Cemetery Hill Road. The four acre parcel was donated by Alfred Witham and the first burial took place in 1858. Many members of the Witham family and other early Corvallis pioneers are interned here including a slave and Civil War Soldiers of both the Union and Confederate Armies.

In the United States, Canada, Australia, and elsewhere, a pioneer cemetery is a cemetery that is the burial place for pioneers. American pioneers founded such cemeteries during territorial expansion of the United States, with founding dates spanning, at least, from the late 18th to early 20th centuries. The State of Oregon defines a "pioneer cemetery" as "any burial place that contains the remains of one or more persons who died before February 14, 1909", which is the 50th anniversary of Oregon's statehood.
