The old school dates back to 1831 when all Danish children should go to school. It was a local school until 1955.

The children went to school all year round exept holidays. At harvest seasons the some children went to school one day and the other day helped at their parents farm.

The schools that time were normally located close to the local church, because the priest was their teacher.

The school had a fireplace and the children had to bring wood with them for heating.
