North Wilkesboro Speedway hosted NASCAR stock car races from 1949 until it closed in 1996. This faded sign at the entrance to the track property features the track logo and the old "NASCAR Winston Cup Series" logo.

After improvements were made to the facility, the track reopened in 2010 and held several successful events until the decision was made to close the track once again in May 2011.
