Old Steilstrecke on the Nordschleife

The Steilstrecke was a small 450m stright with a gradient of 27%. The Steilstrecke was part of the famous Nordschleife racetrack in Germany, but the Steilstracke was only used for testing and never used for racing.

According to rumours the public in the 60s could race their car either down the Steilstreck or the famous Carussell corner, but due to fatal crashes they deicided to close Steilstrecke to the public.

Today the steilstrecke is abandoned, but is a popular tourist actraction for people visiting the track. The Nordschleife is still being used for the race called 24 Hours of Nürnberg and the public can also race pretty much any type of road vehicle on it.

The more moderen version of the track called Nürnburgring is used by all different kinds of motorsport, but mostly famous for being the German and European GP in F1.
