I was born & raised in Springfield. This "thing" made quite a stink when I was 15 years old and it cost (IIRC) $80k. It was "modern art" and we would come to appreciate it, we were told. Being a young person, that sounded good too me. I didn't want some old stone guy on a horse, after all.
Well, I'm 42 now. I thankfully have moved far away from Springifeld. But was back recently. And gawd durn, thing thign is FUGLY and without artistic merit. The city is hurting for money -- why they haven't traded it at the scrap metal yard for cash is beyond me! Mr Bladen, this sucks!
