OshTU was established in 1996 and is named after M. M. Adyshev.

It offers master’s degrees in Engineering and Science & Technology and specialises the following areas:

Electrical and electronic engineering

Information and communication technology

Mechanical engineering

Teaching is delivered in the Russian language.

OshTU is officially recognised by Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Education and is a non-profit higher education with c7,500 students enrolled.

In June 2021 the Accreditation Council of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating gave accreditation to OshTU in the framework of International institutional and specialised programme.
