From 1929-32, Paramount Records operated a record pressing plant in this location. Over 1600 blues, jazz, and gospel records were recorded inside of a former chair factory.

Few people in this upscale suburb of Milwaukee realized the musical history of their town until after the efforts of a few residents to bring the subject to light began in 2005.

With the design of giant piano keys in a wide sidewalk, the Walk of Fame inducted it's first member in 2006. The annual Paramount Blues Festival has been held here ever since.
