'Parks and Recreation' pit

The NBC comedy series 'Parks and Recreation' filmed many scenes in this open lot. A central story line of the show's first season dealt with a parks department's project of turning a vacant lot with a deep pit into a new park.

In real life, the land featured apartment buildings which were recently torn down. The show's production crew dug the pit before filming. The show also films many scenes at Pasadena's city hall.
