On Tuesday, 17th September 2024, Santiago EA2BX/P, a radio amateur from Spain, reached the summit of Peñas Malas in the Leon province of Spain. He became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
Santiago made 8 contacts from the summit working on the 40m and 30m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Peñas Malas is 2,280 metres (7,480 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
