On Monday 19th September 2022, Marcio PY2TTN, a radio amateur from Brazil reached the summit of Pico do Lopo and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 27 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 15 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Pico do Lopo is 1725 metres (5659 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
