On Friday 278th October 2022, Mario HB9HAT/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Piz Neir and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 40 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 20, 17 and 12 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Piz Neir is 2906 metres (9534 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
