On Thursday 7th July 2022 Hans HB9BQU/P a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Pizzun and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 38 contacts in total working on the 40, 30 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Pizzun is 2966 metres (9731 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
